Yuriy Golub, DO

Pronouns: He/Him
Hometown: Tomylivka, Ukraine
Medical School: Pacific Northwest University

I was born in Ukraine, and my family migrated to the Pacific Northwest when I was 9. I stayed in the area for undergrad at University of Washington in Seattle, majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Slavic Literature. I then ended up going to medical school just a couple of hours east at Pacific Northwest University.

Coming from a small village, I had a passion to become a doctor that could do it all, take care of everyone, and build lasting relationships. I grew up with 6 younger siblings and many small cousins, so I’ve developed a passion for working with kids as well as adults. During medical school, I also got numerous opportunities to go abroad and serve impoverished gypsy villages in Romania, during which I developed an even stronger desire to have a broad knowledge base and serve diverse populations and ages, particularly those in need. Thus, I always felt Family Medicine was the perfect fit for me.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, road trips, and just exploring the wealth of landscapes the Northwest has to offer! Indoors, I love playing board games, tinkering around on a piano, watching the Seahawks, and settling down with a good book. I am thrilled I get to stay Northwest for my ongoing training, and I am excited to be at VFM, with its diverse patient population and wonderful staff.
