BENEFITS

Residents are eligible for benefits as employees of Valley Medical Center.  Benefit information as provided on Valley Medical Center’s website may differ from the information listed below.


RESIDENT BENEFITS SUMMARY FOR 2026-2027 ACADEMIC YEAR

FIRST YEAR RESIDENTS :

  • Salary: $74,077.45/year
  • Housing Allowance: $7,020.00/year
  • Vacation: 19 working days, 9 holidays (7 federal holidays with 2 floating holidays)
  • CME: 2 days and $300.00

SECOND YEAR RESIDENTS:

  • Salary: $76,384.95/year
  • Housing Allowance: $7,020.00/year
  • Vacation: 19 working days, 9 holidays (7 federal holidays with 2 floating holidays)
  • CME: 5 days and $500.00

THIRD YEAR RESIDENTS:

  • Salary: $79,692.45/year
  • Housing Allowance: $7,020.00/year
  • Vacation: 19 working days, 9 holidays (7 federal holidays with 2 floating holidays)
  • CME: 5 days and $1,000.00

RESIDENT LEADERSHIP POSITION:

  • Program Lead Stipend: $4,000.00/year

Sick Leave

  • 9 1/2 days/year (Unused sick time may be extended into the next academic year)

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:

CME allowances can be used for the following items: medical education conference registration and travel; medical books, journals and subscriptions; medical apps and software; up to $100 can be used toward the purchase of a new stethoscope. Unused CME benefits do not rollover to next academic year.

Prepaid medical and dental benefits effective on the first day of employment. A flexible benefits program which includes additional medical and dental options.  Coverage for dependents may be elected at an extra expense which is shared by the employer.  Counseling services are covered through health insurance plans. Flexible Spending accounts available for healthcare and dependent care coverage.
