Pronouns: She/her
Hometown: Rural TX | Albuquerque, NM | Seattle, WA
Medical School: University of Washington
I spent most of my life living across the Southwest, including growing up in San Diego, CA, meeting my husband in San Antonio, TX, and raising my children in Albuquerque, NM. Eventually, my husband’s career brought us to the Seattle area. Although I miss the high desert of NM (and the red & green chile!), I have quickly fallen in love with the PNW and am thrilled to be able to stay here during my residency and beyond.
I completed my undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University and attended medical school at the University of Washington where I found myself consistently drawn to family medicine. I love its whole-person approach to caring for people throughout the many stages of life. I also treasure the lasting relationships family medicine providers create with their patients, as well as their focus on a person’s place within a family, community, and culture. I am very excited to be a part of the Valley Family Medicine program where I am looking forward to exploring my numerous medical interests, some of which are lifestyle medicine, mental health, addiction medicine, geriatrics, and hospice/palliative care.
During my free time, I try to spend as much time as possible with my husband, 2 adult children, and their partners. I always prefer to be outdoors either gardening, hiking, trail running, or fly-fishing. When the weather keeps me indoors, my favorite pastimes are caring for my houseplant jungle, reading anything & everything, working on jigsaw puzzles, practicing yoga & meditation, and watching college football (Go Huskies! Gig’em Aggies!).
I am so grateful for the opportunity to train at the Valley Family Medicine program!
