Sabrina Kwan, MD

After spending time away from the PNW, I am delighted to come back home and serve my community with Vally Family Medicine! I grew up in the Seattle area with two brothers, who helped me develop a great deal of patience, and two immigrant parents.

My childhood shaped my desire to support the community that raised me, and I have been heavily involved with immigrant and refugee families throughout my time in school. While at Pomona College for my B.A. in Chemistry, I taught citizenship classes and translated for refugee families. I continued my work at Albany Medical College helping people navigate the American healthcare system, directing asylum health evaluations, writing affidavits, and advocating for expanded healthcare access for people of all backgrounds.

As a physician, I am dedicated to providing care tailored to the needs of each individual person. I chose Family Medicine for the opportunity it presents to connect with both patients and the communities that support them. My interests include obstetrics, immigrant/refugee care and mental health. In addition, I am drawn to geriatrics as working with older adults reminds me of the aunties and uncles in my life who always made sure I was well fed.

In my free time, I enjoy practicing Mandarin and Korean, and reading physical books outside on cloudy days. In the winter, I head to the mountains to ski and snowboard. And at all times, I keep an eye out for good food.
