Briar Bertoch, MD

Pronouns: she/her
Hometown:
Medical School: State University of New York

I grew up in Spokane, WA and completed my undergrad at UW Seattle where I majored in molecular biology. Even though I loved Washington, I was ready to try something new and ended up moving to Syracuse, NY for medical school.

While there, I participated in two rural training programs, which not only reinforced my desire to live rurally, but also introduced me to the potential scope of family medicine. These experiences cultivated my interest in minor procedures, obstetrics, and end-of-life care. I ultimately chose to pursue family medicine both for the variety it offers as well as for the opportunity to build relationships with my patients over many years.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time at home with my husband and cat either baking or playing board games. I also enjoy exploring the outdoors, hiking and growing my plant identification skills. I’m looking forward to rediscovering the PNW!
