I am so excited to be a part of the Valley Family Medicine team! I was born in Austin, Texas but moved to the Seattle area when I was a baby, so I consider myself a Washingtonian. I stayed in Washington for my undergraduate degree in Biology at Seattle University, where my love for science and my passion for volunteering in the pediatrics ward of a local hospital solidified my desire to go into Medicine. After taking two years off to pursue clinical research, I was ecstatic to be accepted to the University of Washington School of Medicine. I was lucky to be a part of the Spokane WWAMI cohort, becoming close with my small class of 40 students. Surrounded by like-minded peers, I co-founded an educational outreach organization in Spokane to expose under-represented students to opportunities in health related careers. This is where I found my passion for teaching and mentoring, and realized the power of education to support healthy communities.
After spending nearly my entire life in the Pacific Northwest, I am so excited to call this beautiful corner of the country my home for residency. After residency, I am hoping to continue my love for teaching as a faculty member for a local medical school or residency program. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my husband and friends, cooking new recipes I find on Pinterest, or painting with acrylics and watercolors.
