Ryan Cuny, MD

University of Minnesota

I was born in Utah, went to high school in Pocatello, ID and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT.  After my first year of undergrad, I decided to serve a two-year church mission in Taiwan.  While there, I not only had the opportunity to work with the people but also become very proficient in Mandarin Chinese.  Upon returning home I quickly realized that I wanted to pursue medical school, which led me to the University of Minnesota to attend medical school.  While there, I found myself drawn to Family Medicine, especially the opportunity it provided to work with the underserved on a community level.

When not in the hospital or clinic I not only enjoy time with family, friends and eating out, but also enjoy keeping close to my roots through art work and traditional Native American dancing.  I feel the art keeps me creative, the dancing healthy, and the music grounded.
