Jon Neher, M.D.
Jon (he/him) received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and mathematics from the University of La Verne in 1980. He graduated from University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 1984 and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Washington in 1988 (including a fourth year as chief resident and faculty development fellow). Jon then spent two years on faculty at the USC-affiliated family medicine residency at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, CA, before returning to the Northwest and joining Valley Family Medicine in 1990. He received a Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatrics soon thereafter. As Associated Program Director, he oversees curriculum design, evaluation processes, and the Theme Day scheduling.
Prolific academic writer, he is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Evidence-Based Practice and an assistant editor for the Family Practice Inquiries Network. He utilizes skills developed in this work to help residents complete and publish academic projects.
Jon is an avid hiker and enjoys dabbling in outdoor photography.
