CLERKSHIPS

CLERKSHIPS

4th Year Audition Rotation

Our program offers a four-week elective to qualified 4th year medical students. This family medicine experience is offered from August through February.

Currently our two rotations that is being offered will be:

November 16, 2026 – December 11, 2026

February 1, 2027 – February 26, 2027

It is our goal to offer students a rotation that closely replicates the experience of a first year resident at Valley Family Medicine. To accomplish this goal students are scheduled in the family medicine clinic as an R-1 where they see patients independently.

In addition to the outpatient responsibilities the student is paired with an R3 on the combined inpatient medicine/pediatric service. The student takes call every third to fourth day (with a cap of four patients). The student manages these patients in conjunction with the resident team during the morning prior to afternoon clinic. Didactics are incorporated into the student’s schedule as well.

Visiting Acting Internship

Valley Family Medicine funds two need-based scholarships for visiting acting-interns from August to February for applicants. This program will provide a stipend of up to $2000 to help defray the cost of an away rotation. If you have a significant financial need and you are committed to working in an underserved community, please consider applying. Even if you are not selected for a scholarship, we still welcome and encourage you to spend 4 weeks with us to experience and learn about our program.
