Kristin Thai, DO
Kansas City University of Medicine

I grew up in the beautiful “Land of 10,000 Lakes,” also known as Minnesota. I attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, for undergrad where I studied Biochemistry and Spanish and had the opportunity to travel abroad to Spain and Cuba. While engaging with communities around the world, I discovered my passion for human connection and the importance of community in wellness.

Inspired by my travels abroad, volunteer work in my own community, and my family’s experience navigating the healthcare system, I became interested in holistic medicine and decided to pursue a career as an osteopathic physician. I completed medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. Interested in social determinants of health, I also obtained my Master of Arts in Bioethics during medical school in order to better serve as an advocate for my patients. Pursuing a career in family medicine was an easy decision, as it allows me the opportunity to share lifelong relationships with my patients and to help improve the overall well-being of my community. Within the realm of family medicine, I am particularly interested in women’s health, mental health, and community medicine.

I am thrilled to be joining the team at Valley Family Medicine to pursue my career goals as a family physician, and my husband is thrilled to have the opportunity to grow in his career as an environmental scientist in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Outside of medicine, I have many interests including traveling, yoga, reading, running, hiking, gardening, enjoying delicious coffee and food, and most importantly, spending time with family and our two kitties.
